MBL at HCR 2026: Our First Exhibition in Japan

Events 28.09.2026

Three days in Tokyo, over 40 customer meetings and valuable insights into the needs of Japanese wheelchair users.

Our first step into the Japanese market

In October 2026, MBL exhibited at H.C.R. – the International Home Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan, for the first time. One of Asia’s largest exhibitions for assistive and rehabilitation equipment, H.C.R. attracted 110,958 visitors over three days.
Our 36 m² booth provided an opportunity to introduce MBL’s mobility solutions to the Japanese market, meet potential business partners, and learn more about the needs of wheelchair users in Japan.

High-performance Omobic components in focus

Given the size of our booth, we focused primarily on Omobic’s high-performance wheelchair components, designed to support active wheelchair users in their everyday lives.
We also showed a selection of MBL components for standard manual wheelchairs, demonstrating the sample of our solutions for wheelchair manufacturers and other business partners.
In addition, we dedicated space to our carbon solutions for rehabilitation industry, like wheelchair side panels, showcasing another area of MBL’s expertise and development capabilities.

Over 40 customer meetings and valuable feedback

One of the most important outcomes of H.C.R. 2026 was the opportunity to meet Japanese wheelchair manufacturers and wholesalers face to face.
During the exhibition, we held many customer meetings and welcomed many other visitors to our booth. These conversations allowed us to discuss how MBL’s components and mobility solutions could support our partners’ businesses and help them meet their customers’ needs.
We also had the opportunity to gather direct feedback from wheelchair users in Japan. Their insights helped us better understand their preferences regarding components and materials, as well as the features that matter most when using an active wheelchair in everyday life. What is the most important to us – they liked Omobic a lot! Especially our lightweight wheelchair parts like Airy handrim, Flow handrim and Skylite wheel.

Understanding the Japanese market

Japan has its own requirements, cultural context, and ways of doing business. Meeting local partners and wheelchair users in person gave us a better understanding of these differences and the expectations of the Japanese market.
The feedback we received will help us continue developing our understanding of local needs and identify opportunities to build relationships with Japanese manufacturers, wholesalers, and other business partners.

A valuable beginning

Our first H.C.R. exhibition was an important step in strengthening MBL’s presence in Japan. We returned with new insights and promising opportunities for future cooperation.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and took the time to talk with us. We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring how MBL and Omobic can support the Japanese rehabilitation market.
