The Wheelchair Rugby Championship

The Polish International Wheelchair Rugby Championship and the Polish WR 5’s Cup ended a few days ago. Both tournaments took place on the 12th and 13th of November.
Fierce games provided to everyone – both players and fans – lots of emotions. It was all worth it!
The tournaments were played in the Arena Gliwice. The Polish International Championship was the fourth final tournament to determine the winning team of the league in the 2022 season. 10 teams participated including those from Poland, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
The Polish WR 5’s Cup, on the other hand, is a novelty! The tournament features a game which consists of 5 players on each side. The players play in so-called FIVE’s. Everyone with physical disabilities regardless of the level of that disability can participate in the game. This amenity is important for the development of wheelchair rugby in Poland.
Both tournaments were attended by teams whose players belong to the Polish Wheelchair Rugby Association.
The winners of the 2022 Polish Wheelchair Rugby Championship are:
– Gold medal – IKS JEŹDŹCY ARENA GLIWICE,
– Silver medal – FOUR KINGS 1 WARSAW,
– Bronze medal – FLYING WINGS RZESZÓW.
The winners of the Polish WR 5’s Cup are:
– I place – IKS JEŹDŹCY MIKOŁÓW,
– II place – 4K JOKERS BYDGOSZCZ,
– III place – LAVORO CZĘSTOCHOWA.
It has to be said that both the winning teams and other teams that participated in tournaments played fantastic matches!
As always, MBL supported the players by servicing the rugby wheels and others during the Polish International Championships and the Polish Cup WR 5’s. Our technical team for two days of the competition provided assistance in any technical matter.
It is not the end of the good news!
At the end of the season, as a crowning achievement of our cooperation with the Polish Wheelchair Rugby Association, we received the “PARTNER OF PZRNW AWARD 2022” (PZRNW – Polish Wheelchair Rugby Association) statuette!
We are proud and happy that due to the support of the Polish Wheelchair Rugby Union we can contribute to the development of wheelchair rugby and stimulation to activity of people with physical disabilities in Poland!
