Wheelchair Rugby – May
The International Polish Wheelchair Rugby Championship has started! MBL was supporting the contestants – as always!
Wheelchair rugby tournament out of four was held on the 7th – 8th of May in the Arena Gliwice.
This year the International Polish Wheelchair Rugby Championship is unique in many aspects:
– Two types of tournaments were held:
WR4 : Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby
WR5’s: where any person with any kind of a mobility impairment is allowed to participate.
– 16 club teams, including teams from France and the Czech Republic, take part in the tournament.
– 150 wheelchair rugby players will compete in the Championship.
The IKS Jeźdźcy Gliwice team won the first tournament of a series that took place in Arena Gliwice.
We would like to congratulate the winners and all the teams that fought bravely on the pitch.
The MBL RR Squad, represented by Rafał Zajda and Robert Pawlikowski, helped the contestants solving technical problems with their wheelchairs, wheels etc.
They were happy to help many players knowing that they are supporting and improving the mobility of the players.
These are the fundaments of the MBL’s cooperation with the Polish Wheelchair Rugby Union.
See you at the next tournament in Lodz in June!
